The Door Church
A church in Coppell, TX that Mindy and I are lucky enough to attend. Their mission is to transform the city with the gospel. In 2010, they asked me to take on a redesign of their website to make it reflect their status as a young, suburban church.
They said, “We don’t exactly know what we want it too look like, but we really like this picture of a door.” After creating a color palette based off of this picture, the feel of the design began to fall into place.
Features
Since the main purpose of most first-time visitors to a church’s site is to find out service times, the website was developed to respond to any screen size. That way someone who might be on their way or making plans to attend can quickly see times, the address and directions. The site was also built using WordPress as the CMS to allow the staff to easily update the upcoming events and any other content as needed. It was coded into a custom HTML5 WordPress theme with a CSS3 stylesheet.
